How to see the price history of a Rightmove listing
Rightmove shows only a listing’s latest change, such as “Reduced on 12/09/2026”. To see the earlier prices, check the same home on Zoopla (its property timeline lists past asking prices and sales), look up past sale prices with HM Land Registry, or use a free browser extension like Kerblist that remembers every price it sees.
What Rightmove shows, and what it doesn’t
Every Rightmove listing and search result carries one line about its history: “Added on” with a date when the home first appears, which becomes “Reduced on” with a new date when the price changes. That line always describes the most recent event. Once a home has been reduced, you can no longer see when it was first listed, what it was first priced at, or how many times it has been cut.
Past sale prices are a different thing: those come from HM Land Registry, and Rightmove shows them in its separate House Prices section.
Four ways to see the full picture
1. Check the same home on Zoopla
Most homes are listed on more than one site. Zoopla listing pages have a Property timeline that shows when the home was listed, each price change with the amount, and earlier sales of the same home. Search Zoopla for the same street and match the photos.
2. Look up past sale prices with HM Land Registry
HM Land Registry records every residential sale in England and Wales since 1995. Search it for free on GOV.UK at Search house price information. It tells you what the home, and its neighbours, actually sold for. It doesn’t cover Scotland or Northern Ireland, and it doesn’t record size or bedrooms.
3. Ask the agent
Agents will usually answer direct questions. Useful ones:
- When did it first go on the market, including any earlier listings?
- What was the original asking price, and when did it change?
- Has it been under offer before? Why did that fall through?
4. Let a browser extension keep the record for you
Kerblist is a free extension for Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket. On every Rightmove search result it shows how long the home has been listed and when it was last reduced. It remembers each price it sees, so a result can say “↓ £15k since you looked”. On a listing it adds the Zoopla price timeline when there is one, and HM Land Registry sold prices for the same type of home nearby, with older sales in today’s money.
Kerblist only reads the pages you open. Your shortlist and price history stay on your computer.
See every price change without the detective work
Kerblist is free, with no account. It’s coming to the Chrome Web Store this month.

Does Rightmove show price reductions?
Yes, but only the latest one. A listing shows “Reduced on” with the date of the most recent change. Earlier asking prices and earlier reductions are not shown.
Can I see previous asking prices on Rightmove?
Not on Rightmove itself. Check whether the same home is on Zoopla, whose property timeline lists past asking prices, or use a browser extension that records every price it sees.
Where can I see what a house last sold for?
HM Land Registry records every home sold in England and Wales since 1995. Search it for free on GOV.UK, or look in the sold prices sections of Rightmove and Zoopla, which use the same data.
